Body Happy Sessions

Body Happy Sessions are a quarterly series of online events we run for parents and caregivers, spotlighting a specific theme or issue around body image. We team up with partners for these events, with our founder and Executive Director Molly Forbes co-hosting alongside a different specialist for each series.

We deliver each series live, with access for ticketholders to join the sessions as they’re delivered, ask questions during the sessions and send in questions beforehand. They also get exclusive access to the content as well as additional extras for a period of time after the session. We then make the sessions available for everyone to purchase at a later point, with access to the recordings from the live sessions and some of the resources that go with them.

Changing Bodies: parenting through puberty

Molly and Debbie were so knowledgeable and thoughtful. There was great information shared in the sessions. The topics covered were really helpful. I feel like we could have spent hours and hours on it!
Both me and my husband really enjoyed the sessions.

Changing Bodies is a Body Happy Sessions event for parents and caregivers, hosted by Body Happy Org founder and author Molly Forbes, with guest speaker, sex educator Debbie Bere. This product gives you access to the previously recorded event, along with a resource pack accompanying the webinars.

In these two, one-hour virtual sessions, Molly and Debbie guide you through some of the major body milestones your children will experience as they move through puberty, and arm you with practical tools to build their body image resilience and nurture their wellbeing during this phase in their lives.

Session 1: Body Basics

Gain a deeper understanding of body image during the adolescent phase, and take a closer look at some of the bodily changes children and young people experience during this time of their lives.

Session 2: Cringey Conversations

Explore some of the potentially awkward body conversation topics that you’ll be likely to face at some point during this stage in your child’s development, with supportive guidance on how to broach these subjects with compassion and curiosity.

The speakers

The session really encouraged me to reflect on the conversations I have with my children - not just ‘the what’ but ‘the how’. I’ve already taken the opportunity to ask my son what he understands a particular song lyric to mean, which prompted a discussion about consent and respecting women (thanks Drake). I’m going to install TikTok and maybe even SnapChat 😳 Let’s see if I can connect with my daughter through her preferred form of communication.
