Every Body is shortlisted for a Teach Primary Award
The children’s body positivity book Every Body, by founder and Executive Director of The Body Happy Organisation Molly Forbes, has been shortlisted for a Teach Primary Award 2024.
Run by Teach Primary magazine, the awards help teachers seek out the very best educational resources to support their KS1 and KS2 pupils. Quality is determined by the Award’s panel of primary experts and educators who consider nine education categories which reflect the broad curriculum and ensure that only the very best resources are recognised.
Every Body has been shortlisted in the Wellbeing category and is the only book to be named in that category. You can see the full shortlist here.
Published by Puffin and illustrated by Canadian artist and comic book illustrator Mollie Cronin, Every Body is an inclusive and uplifting guide that helps readers age 9+ “celebrate, respect and accept ALL bodies - especially your [their] own”.
The book was published in June of 2024 and included a school book tour with author workshops with children and young people in years 5, 6 and 7, as well as a launch event at Waterstones Piccadilly, Europe’s biggest bookshop.
Since then, the book’s been used in schools and by parents across the UK to open conversations around body image, body acceptance, advocacy and inclusivity.
The winners of the Teach Primary Awards will be announced in November 2024.
